INDIANAPOLIS -

Indiana State Police say a driver was waiting outside when crews arrived on the scene to his vehicle going up in flames.

Crews were dispatched to an accident on I-465 at the 53 mile marker at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday.  Initial reports indicated at least one vehicle had rolled over.

When crews arrived, police say they found the driver standing next to his burning vehicle.

The driver was transported to the hospital.  His condition is unknown.

It didn't take long for fire fighters to extinguish the fire, but more than an hour later, only one westbound lane of I-465 near Emerson Avenue was open.

State Police say they are still investigating the accident and are unsure exactly how many vehicles may have been involved.
