Study: Men don't "grow up" until age 43

LONDON -

A British study shows men and women agree that men don't grow up until they're in their 40s.

The research, which was commissioned by Nickelodeon UK to coincide with the launch of a new television show, showed the genders agree that men remain immature until the age of 43. But the average age which women mature was just 32.

Eight out of 10 women cited playing video games, eating fast food in the early morning hours and "breaking wind" as reasons to believe men never stop being childish. Females polled in the study also said staying silent during arguments, not being able to cook simple meals and re-telling old jokes and stories were further signs that men don't grow up.

''As a man, especially one who works for a children's channel, the question if men ever reach maturity is one I am well accustomed to," Tim Patterson, vice president and director of programming for Nickelodeon UK told The Telegraph.

Men studied were nearly twice as likely to admit to being immature than women and a fourth of men believe they are actively immature.

Three in 10 women say they have ended a relationship because a guy's immaturity and 46 percent said they have been in a relationship where they had to "mother" their partner a bit too much.
