Gov. Mike Pence and Indiana lawmakers are using a ceremonial bill signing to promote the Indianapolis Motor Speedway a few days before the Indy 500.
The new law lends IMS $100 million from the state to pay for repairs and improvements. Pence and legislative sponsors of the measure met in his office Thursday for the ceremonial bill signing. He signed the measure earlier this month with a raft of other proposals.
Pence is attending a series of events ahead of the race. He spoke later Thursday at the Motorsport Industry Association's reception and planned to speak at the 500 Festival Memorial Service on Friday.
