Metro Police detectives continue to search for a suspect, or suspects, responsible for a deadly shooting on the north side of Indianapolis.
Just after midnight, police officers were sent to the 3500 block of North Sherman Drive on a report that someone was firing several gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, they found an unidentified male, suffering from several gunshot wounds. EMS workers tried to revive him, but he died at the scene.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin. Investigators are now trying to identify potential witnesses. Moments before those gunshots were heard, investigators think the victim stepped outside to investigate a suspicious noise.
Metro Police detectives say this is still an active investigation and anyone with information about the shooting, is urged to call IMPD Homicide at 327-3987 or CRIME STOPPERS at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
