EDMOND, Okla. -

Oklahoma's state medical examiner's office says a second person was killed by a tornado that leveled a central Oklahoma mobile home park.

Office spokeswoman Amy Elliott on Monday identified the two people who are confirmed to have been killed during Sunday's storms as 79-year-old Glen Irish and 76-year-old Billy Hutchinson. Both men were from Shawnee.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth also said that six people who lived in the mobile home park were injured.

One of several tornadoes that touched down in parts of the nation's midsection on Sunday leveled the Steelman Estates Mobile Home Park near Shawnee.

It wasn't immediately clear if both victims lived at the mobile home park.

In addition to the two deaths, at least 21 people were injured in the outbreak.

The same storm system spawned tornadoes in Missouri. Early Monday morning, a tornado touched down in Golden City, Missouri, and tore through two counties.  Authorities with the Barton County Emergency Management Agency are still trying to determine the number of people injured, as well as the extent of the damage.

In Oklahoma, between 30 and 35 homes had significant damage, and number of frame homes in the neighborhood also sustained damage. The storms were part of a severe weather outbreak that stretched from Texas to Minnesota.

An Oklahoma storm spotter told the National Weather Service that the tornado "scoured" the landscape in the park and an area along Interstate 40.

The highway has been closed because of overturned tractor-trailers that now litter the road. Three tractor-trailer rigs were flipped over, including one which appeared to have been blown off a highway overpass.

Television footage showed the twister approaching an area near the Shawnee Reservoir.

In Shawnee, search and rescue efforts are underway after the tornado ripped multiple homes from their foundations.

Twisters were also reported Sunday in Iowa and Kansas. Forecasters had warned residents about impending severe weather since last Wednesday, and also caution that parts of the nation's midsection will see severe weather on Monday too.

The severe weather risk moves eastward to Indiana Monday night and Tuesday.
