Steady showers soaked the track Saturday morning. When the rain stopped at about 11:30 a.m., track officials sent trucks onto the 2.5-mile oval to dry it. Normally, it takes about two hours to get the oval dry, but the sun peeking through the clouds could speed up the process.

Today's weather forecast:
Rain could be a factor in today's Pole Day. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will likely develop as we head into the afternoon.
Highs will reach 80 degrees. The entire day will not be a washout, but as we get into the heat of the day, expect rain and storms to pop.
Tonight, rain activity will start to die down as the sun sets. Temps will be mild for your evening plans.
