Pacers guard George Hill out of Game 5 with concussion
NEW YORK -
Pacers guard George Hill will miss Thursday night's Game 5 against the New York Knicks.
The team said Hill suffered a concussion in Game 4 Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Pacers head coach Frank Vogel said Hill was injured in a collision with Knicks center Tyson Chandler.
Hill had experienced headaches and showed concussion symptoms since and wasn't able to pass the league's concussion tests so he could play Thursday night.
Vogel told Eyewitness Sports reporter Eric Yutzy Hill's status is "day to day."
The former Broad Ripple H.S. and IUPUI star is averaging 16 points per game in the playoffs.
Vogel said Hill's likely replacement, D.J. Augustin, is playing his best basketball during the playoffs, which gives him "a great deal of comfort right now." Augustin is averaging 8.5 points in just over 16 minutes of action in the series with New York.
The Pacers will clinch a spot against Miami in the Eastern Conference finals with a win at Madison Square Garden.
