An uncle of Chris Kelly says the rapper was a good person who loved his family.
Lemar Williams spoke outside the funeral home that hosted the viewing for the former Kris Kross member. Williams says while the world knew Kelly as a member of the young rap duo, to his family and friends, "he was just Chris."
Kelly died last week of a suspected drug overdose. His uncle and mother told authorities Kelly had a history of drug abuse and had medical crises before because he had gotten high.
Kriss Kross was introduced to the music world in 1992 by music producer Jermaine Dupri after he discovered them at an Atlanta mall. Kelly performed with Chris Smith - and they are best known for their first single, "Jump."
