Demi Lovato says getting an award for mentoring young adults with mental health issues means more than any music award she's gotten or could get.
Lovato was recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in Washington yesterday.
Lovato herself dealt with self-abuse, bulimia and substance abuse. She's become a role model for teens dealing with similar problems. Lovato says it inspires her when someone holds up a sign at her concert that says they're recovering from bulimia because of Lovato.
She says if she had anything to do with that, than her job on earth is done.
