Ja Rule is out of federal prison. But he still is technically doing time.
The rap artist was released from a prison in New York State yesterday. But prison officials say his official release date remains July 28. The remainder of his time is to be spent under community-based supervision.
TMZ reports it will be home confinement. Ja Rule is 36. He recently served most of his two-year sentence on a gun case.
When he was released in February, he ended up being transferred the Feds to serve time on a tax evasion case. He admitted failing to pay taxes on more than $3 million earned between 2004 and 2006.
