Indianapolis Metro Police arrested a man following a bank robbery and police chase on the city's south side Thursday afternoon.

The bank robbery occurred at the Huntington Bank at 3622 Kentucky Ave.

Police say 21-year-old Andrew Eaker entered the bank and demanded money, implying he had a weapon, but no weapon was seen by the teller.

Within minutes, IMPD officers arrived at the bank and broadcast a suspect description. Officer John Montgomery, who was off-duty, spotted a vehicle and suspect matching Eaker's description and stopped the vehicle.

As Montgomery approached the car, Eaker drove off. After a three-mile pursuit, an officer performed a P.I.T. maneuver on the vehicle, bringing the car to a stop in front of the Pilot gas station on Harding Street at I-465.

Eaker is facing preliminary charges of robbery, resisting law enforcement in a vehicle, and possessing a handgun without a license.

No injuries were reported.
