IRVINGTON, Ind. -

Indianapolis Metro Police have identified the scooter driver killed in an Irvington crash early Friday morning.

Ryan Hammons of Indianapolis, 33, died from injuries he suffered when he crashed into the back of an SUV.

Washington Street between Irvington and Ritter was closed for several hours early Friday morning as police investigated the crash.

Police don't believe alcohol is a factor in the crash, but the SUV driver submitted to a blood draw, which is normal procedure in fatal crash investigations.

The SUV driver was not injured.

There is an IPS school in the area. Some school buses were diverted around the crash scene to get students to school on time.
