INDIANAPOLIS -

A former Indiana National Guard employee faces federal charges alleging that she bilked the agency out of more than $200,000 by making unauthorized purchased of everything from jewelry to household appliances.

The U.S. Attorney's office says 51-year-old Angela Watson of Indianapolis was indicted Thursday on wire fraud charges for allegedly using her position as a National Guard program analyst to make those purchases.

Prosecutors say Watson worked for the Indiana National Guard from 1993 until early 2011.

The alleged scheme ran from 2008 until late 2010 and involved Watson using her federally-funded government purchase card to make unauthorized personal purchases and then submitting false and fraudulent receipts.

She's accused of using the money to buy items that included jewelry, electronics, household appliances, clothing and food.
