Notre Dame doesn't have to look back to see how tough it is to beat an opponent four times in one season.
Two years ago, the Fighting Irish had lost three times in a season to Connecticut and Texas A&M had lost three times to Baylor, yet both ended their losing streaks in national semifinal games. The Irish (35-1) are hoping to change that trend when they take on the Huskies (33-4) in an NCAA semifinal game Sunday in New Orleans.
Notre Dame has beaten UConn three times this season by an average of three points, which included a triple overtime victory in South Bend. Irish coach Muffet McGraw says the difference has been the Irish have made big plays at the end of the games.
