In Indiana, a 'casino' by any other name pondered

The electronic roulette at the Indiana Grand Casino may lack the felt and the chips of a true table game - but a bad bet on red will still cost gamblers just as much.

But there's something tangible which draws more gamblers to play at true table game instead of an electronic one. It's that question which has Indiana lawmakers pondering whether to legalize
table games at the state's two race tracks this session.

The tracks' owner and the lawmakers from those districts have been pushing the games as a do-or-die proposition for the tracks. New competition from casinos at Indiana's borders threatens to eat into the track owner's profits as much as the state's.
