INDIANAPOLIS -

A newborn baby found dead in a local creek was buried Saturday by strangers.

The public was invited to the memorial for baby "Moses" Saturday morning at Washington Park East Cemetery.

The smallest casket for a baby boy left behind.

"Even though you didn't know him in life, you knew him in death," said Linda Znachko.

Linda Znachko, like everyone else gathered at Saturday's burial service, never knew this baby but felt compelled to honor him.

"When I explained to my son what happened, my five year old said it perfectly. He had tears in his eyes. But, we could have taken care of him?" said Jennifer Smith.

The baby was found in a creek on March 17th.

Linda Znachko named the baby Moses, and her ministry, "He Knows Your Name" organized Saturday's funeral.

"I have dressed Moses in a white garment. I did that to symbolize his spiritual freedom that he know has with Jesus Christ," said Znachko.

Linda Znachko lead a funeral for Nichole Moody's son, Nicholas, in 2009. That's why Moody also wanted to here for Moses. She lead the balloon release for baby Moses.

Eyewitness News has learned the man who found baby Moses in the creek was also at the burial service.

Metro Police are still trying to find the mother who put the baby in the creek.

The Marion County coroner is waiting on toxicology results to come back before releasing a cause of death.
