Hardee's employee tries to save shooting victim

INDIANAPOLIS -

A restaurant employee says he heard gunshots and tried to revive a man who had been shot outside the restaurant where he was working.

The Hardee's employee tells WTHR that he tried giving the shooting victim CPR, but the man died before authorities could get to the scene.

UPDATE: Two arrested in shooting

Police say the man killed has been identified as 28-year-old James Chatman of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were dispatched to a shooting victim in the 7200 block of Woodland Dr. at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday.

The employee says he didn't see who did the shooting, but he did hear gunshots outside. He looked out the window and saw a Chatman stumbling in the roadway. He called 911, and then ran outside to help the him.

Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating the incident. Officials did confirm that a Chatman died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
