INDIANAPOLIS -

A Greenfield man was killed in a crash on I-465 near Mann Road Thursday.

The crash happened at around 8:20 am in the westbound lanes at the 6.6 mile marker. According to police, Kenneth S. Meadows, 46, of Greenfield, rear-ended a semi trailer.

A witness told police the semi was operating below the speed limit while Meadows was driving his 2002 Ford work van above the speed limit. The witness did not see the van driver apply the brakes and police found no skid marks.

Meadows was taken to Methodist Hospital where he later died from his injuries. His family has been notified.

The semi driver was not injured.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The semi driver submitted to a blood draw, and the Marion County coroner will have toxicology results from Meadows after an autopsy.

No charges or tickets were filed.
