A person was found dead in an east side apartment Wednesday afternoon, and Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
It happened near 42nd and Post in the 4000 block of Stratford Court at around 1:30 pm. A resident alerted an officer that a dead body may be inside an abandoned apartment.
Investigators have not identified the body. They're working to confirm that through fingerprints.
The Marion County coroner's office will conduct an autopsy Thursday to determine a cause and manner of death.
