Trial of alleged Joss Stone plotters starts in England

Posted: Updated:
LONDON -

The trial of two men accused of plotting to rob and kill Joss Stone has begun in London.

Prosecutors said in opening statements Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool had planned to decapitate Stone and dump her body in a river. Authorities say handwritten notes about the plot were found in the car.

Prosecutors say Bradshaw and Liverpool had a samurai sword, knives, a hammer, black bags and gloves. Neighbors called police, and the two men never made it as far as Stone's house.

Bradshaw and Liverpool deny the charges.
