Fishers to allow food trucks - with a few rules

Posted: Updated:
FISHERS -

A fight over food trucks is over in Fishers with an agreement, but it comes with major concessions.

The Fishers Town Council passed new rules for food truck operators. They must now have either a $200 annual permit or a profit-sharing agreement with a sports organization or the Fishers Parks Department.

They also must make special arrangements to operate in city parks when other non-profit organizations may also be selling food, like during the Fishers Freedom Festival or the city's free concert series.

The trucks also cannot block the sidewalks.
