Tone Loc: rapper refuses to go to hospital after collapse in Iowa

Posted: Updated:
DES MOINES -

A health scare for a rapper who had a couple of big party hits during the late 1980s. Tone Loc passed out during a show in Des Moines, Iowa.

It happened as he was performing on a bridge. Paramedics came to help him - but he refused to go to the hospital.

Three people who worked for the Des Moines Register newspaper who were at the show says several minutes after Loc went down, fans were asked to leave. It's unclear why the rapper collapsed - and a rep for the rapper didn't respond to messages for information yesterday.

Loc has collapsed on stage before.

He's best known for his hits "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina."
