KOKOMO -

An amazing reunion is taking place this weekend in central Indiana, months after a car crash separated a man from his dog.

It all started back in November, when Dave Vitali was driving from Georgia to Michigan, to bring his golden retriever Max to visit his 11-year-old daughter, who was living with her mother. Vitali got into a car crash in Marshall County and the dog ran off.

In February, a Kokomo woman adopted a golden retriever from the shelter and posted pictures on Facebook. A friend told her it looked like the dog missing from the crash months earlier, so the woman found Vitali on Facebook.

Vitali is driving from Georgia to Kokomo to pick Max up this weekend. His daughter is also hoping to be there for the reunion.
