Phish: Hands on a Hardbody

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

It was a Mexican meal that led to Phish getting a shot at an American dream: doing a Broadway musical.

Trey Anastasio dined with playwright Doug Wright over a plate of enchiladas in New York about the possibility of doing the 1997 "Hands on a Hardbody" to the Great White Way."

Write says Anastasio won him over by his keen knowledge of the theater. Write says he "almost choked on my refried beans."

That meal was three years ago - and now the show is ready to hit the boards in New York.
