NEW ALBANY -

Police in southern Indiana are investigating the bodies of a woman and two children found in a creek Wednesday afternoon.

New Albany Police Maj. Keith Whitlow told WAVE-TV in Louisville the bodies were found shortly after 5 p.m. in a creek that runs through Binford Park in New Albany. A person walking through the park saw the bodies and called police.

Whitlow said one of the children was under two years of age, the other was an adolescent. The genders of the children were not released.

Police are investigating the deaths as a homicide.

WAVE-TV reported that no vehicles were found near the bodies, which rules out the possibility of a crash occurring in the area before the discovery of the bodies. Whitlow told the Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky. there were no obvious signs of foul play

The identities of the victims or cause of death has not yet been released.

Anyone with information about the case should call the New Albany Police Department's anonymous tip line at 812-948-NAPD.
