Ex-officer pleads guilty to improper relationship

RUSHVILLE, Ind. -

A former Rushville police officer who ran an anti-drug program in local schools has pleaded guilty to charges he had an improper relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

Twenty-eight-year-old Cale Worley pleaded guilty to official misconduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor Wednesday.

Indiana State police say Worley's credentials as a police officer and EMT have been revoked.

The girl told investigators last August that she and Worley had exchanged electronic messages and parked in his police car. There were no allegations that Worley had sex with the girl.

Worley had led the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program in local schools.  He resigned his position as an officer in August.

Worley joined the department in the city about 40 miles east of Indianapolis in May 2008.
