INDIANAPOLIS -

A semi-trailer crash on the south side of Indianapolis is slowing interstate traffic.

The semi rolled over on Interstate 465 near U.S. 31 around 11 p.m. Tuesday. A picture from the scene shows the semi on its side in a shallow body of water in the median of the interstate.

Two of the three occupants of the semi had to be extricated from the cab. All three were taken to the hospital, but none of their injuries appear to be life-threatening.

A blue Ford SUV was also at the scene with heavy damage to the rear of the vehicle. A woman and two children who were in the Ford were checked at the scene for injuries and released.

INDOT reported closures of the left two lanes of eastbound I-465 about an hour after the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
