Mooresville High School closed Wednesday following fire

MOORESVILLE -

Mooresville High School will be closed Wednesday (March 13) following smoke damage from a fire Tuesday.

Crews will be shutting down the air handling systems as they clean up the smoke damage on the second floor. The fire, which was contained to a single room and only affected a small area, prompted an evacuation and classes dismissed early Tuesday. No injuries were reported. Police and fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

School administrators say they've been in touch with the Indiana Dept. of Education and have been informed that the day will not need to be made up. The day off will not affect the graduation schedule.

All other Mooresville Schools, including Paul Hadley Middle School, will be in session during normal hours tomorrow and bus routes for those schools will run as usual.
