Moratorium preventing utility disconnects ending

EVANSVILLE -

Vectren is reminding customers that a moratorium that prevents utilities from disconnecting customers who meet low-income guidelines and received government heating assistance will expire March 15.

It says customers who need bill payment assistance should contact it to make payment arrangements to avoid disconnection.

Vectren Vice President Jon Luttrell says the company has several programs and payment options that can help customers who fall behind on bill payments. It includes limited financial assistance for those that do not qualify for state or federal aid.

The company serves natural gas customers in central and southern Indiana.
