YORKTOWN, Ind. -

The victims of a fatal crash in Delaware County are being remembered by friends.

Kendra Masiongale and Maryah Wilson started a memorial at the site of the single-car crash Sunday. Twelve-year-old Andrew Lackey, driver Lisa Case and Kent Kalley, both 47, died in the crash.

The girls wanted to do something to remember them.

"Putting out flowers and a cross for our friend's dad and his girlfriend and our friend, Andrew Lackey," Masiongale said.

Investigators believe speed as high as 90 miles per hour played a role in the crash. An eyewitness told police the Cadillac station wagon went airborne and eventually out of control into a wall made of stacked boulders.

The impact left the station wagon mangled, forcing emergency crews to rescue the survivors from the wreckage. Paramedics rushed 13-year-olds Trace Joiner, Jessica DeLong and Savanna Kalley to the hospital by helicopter.

Lackey attended Yorktown Middle School, where his classmates say, because of his untimely death, school is not the same.

"Today, it was so much quieter. It was so weird today, like, it was horrible," Wilson said.

"He is the kind of person you would always want to be around. He was always a jokester, fun to hang out with."

"He was very fun. He was very uplifted, like, always wanted to have a good time," Masiongale said.

As the crash scene memorial continues to grow, investigators hope the car's on-board computer system will give them more answers on how and why the deadly crash happened.
