His music may be smooth - and he may have brought sexy back - but Justin Timberlake isn't one to back down from a verbal fight. And he threw the musical equivalent of a roundhouse punch at Kanye West during his visit to "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend.
What's behind the beef between the two? Rolling Stone magazine reports that a couple of weeks ago, West said in London while he still has love for Jay-Z, he wasn't down with Timberlake's new song "Suit and Tie," which features Jay-Z.
Timberlake wasn't gonna let that stand - so when he performed his hit as the first of his two musical numbers, he tweaked one of the lyrics to tweak Kanye for his diss. Timberlake sang that his hit was so hot, it was - as he put it - "making rappers act dramatic."
Rolling Stone notes that his doing that on live TV just before Jay-Z joined him on stage was a way of showing that he wasn't afraid to address West on calling out his music.
