Girl injured by school bus on Indianapolis east side

INDIANAPOLIS -

A high school girl is recovering after being hit by a school bus Friday morning.

The John Marshall sophomore was bumped by a turning school bus Friday morning and taken to Community East Hospital.

The accident happened around 6:45 am in the 3300 block of North Denny on the east side.

IPS spokesman John Althardt said the girl was running to catch the bus as the bus was turning. Her injuries were not serious.
