HAMILTON COUNTY -

Two people were injured in a crash in Noblesville Wednesday morning at State Road 37 and Field Drive.

Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles. A small SUV ended up on its side in a ditch.

According to the police report, the 17-year-old driver of a 2005 Toyota Camry was southbound on 37 and attempting to make a westbound (right) turn onto Field Drive. The other vehicle, a Saturn Vue driven by a 38-year-old Noblesville man, was stopped at the intersection facing eastbound on Field Drive.

Police and fire crews believe the Camry slid through the intersection, striking the Saturn on the driver's side. The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway and into a nearby ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The drivers were taken to Riverview Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was involved.

State Road 37 was briefly closed but is now open again.
