INDIANAPOLIS -

Three teenage boys face arson charges after several overnight fires on the Indianapolis east side.

It started a little after midnight, when a 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with an overnight garage fire on North Linwood Ave.

According to the police report, a 15-year-old white male was arrested for causing about $1,000 damage to a detached garage in the 800 block of North Linwood Ave. That's near the Linwood Square Shopping Center just south of E. 10th Street.

No one was injured in the incident. Fire investigators ruled out accidental causes and the teen was arrested for arson.

The Linwood fire took place shortly after midnight.

Around 1:30 am, Indianapolis firefighters were called to a fire in a vacant house in the 1300 block of North Olney, just south of Brookside Park, also on the city's east side and about 1.4 miles from the Linwood arson scene.

That fire caused about $25,000 in damage and took about 20 minutes to get under control.

Five hours later, firefighters were called to a second fire on N. Olney, this one in the 1400 block. The second fire caused about $35,000 in damage.

Two teenage boys, ages 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the first fire at 1311 N. Olney, as well as a dumpster fire on N. Olney that caused around $2,000 in damage. That occurred around 1:15 am.

Investigators with IFD and IMPD say more arrests could be made.

A firefighter had a slight steam burn injury in one of the Olney fires. The firefighter was released after being checked at the scene.
