Larson Electronics Magnalight Gives Final Feedback to Reseller Ratings - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

KEMP, Texas, March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite a 9.58 out of 10 rating, Larson Electronics announced that it will discontinue using the Reseller Ratings customer review service for Magnalight.com, citing astronomical price increases, weak technical support and limited response to post-order surveys compared to other review services.

Larson Electronics announced that it ended a several year relationship with customer review site Reseller Ratings due to poor customer survey response, technical support issues and a threefold price increase. "After launching a second review service 8 months ago, we garnered nearly 3700 responses to our post order surveys," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com.  "In 7 years, we had less than 200 responses from Resellerratings.com.  Even though we had a 9.58 out of 10 rating and were an 'elite' member, we weren't getting the data we needed to improve our business. Fundamentally, I don't think Reseller Ratings has enough name recognition to get customers to open their survey email. Now, with our new review service, which prominently shows the Larson Electronics Magnalight brand, we use those 3700 survey responses to improve our products, the delivery process and the results directly impact employee compensation."

Rob continued, "We also noticed delays in delivering the order confirmation page to the customer.  We narrowed it down to the resellerratings.com popup. Once we removed it, we saw the end to a wide variety of order anomalies. When we contacted Reseller Ratings, they opened a ticket and never followed up.  Finally, we found credit card charges indicating that they raised our month rate from $199 to $699.  Apparently, the notification was tucked at the bottom of a very lengthy marketing email and reflects a random pricing structure which is neither posted nor agreed to contractually by us. According to Reseller Ratings customer service, many customers pay $7000 or more per month for the service and we were getting a bargain. Given that Magnalight.com started with Reseller Ratings when it was $19 per month, we don't see a $699.00 per month value, particularly given the lack of technical support and customer survey response. So we cancelled the service."
