HANCOCK COUNTY -

A man who fled from a Hancock County Sheriff's deputy is now in custody after an hour long manhunt.

Officials say a Hancock County deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle he thought might have been involved in a threat that had been reported to police.  A small car pursuit followed.

The driver of the car was taken into custody when he pulled over and let out the passenger.  The passenger fled on foot.

Police from several departments helped search for the suspect in the area of 700 North and 500 East, just east of Greenfield and south of I-70.

County K-9 was on the scene.  Indiana State Police Helicopter was also called.

Police say the suspect hitched a ride with a couple of women.  He was caught without incident by a Hancock County Sheriff's deputy around 10:20 p.m.

The sheriff's department could not give details on the initial threat that was reported to police.
