Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw had not seen "Safe Haven" when they were asked to write a song for it.
Caillat says they were told what the film was about and they had to go with that. Caillat and DeGraw toured together last summer and were singing together every night, so they had a friendship.
They had a night off and came up with the song "We Both Know." Caillat says it was a bit difficult because she's used to writing a song about whatever she wants instead of getting direction.
