Mindy McCready's funeral held in Florida

Posted: Updated:
FORT MYERS -

Mindy McCready is being remembered by her mom as a fun person and a talented singer who "felt helpless" and "so tired" from all the stuff going on in her life.

About 200 family members and friends were on hand for the service held at a Baptist church in her hometown of Fort Myers, Florida. Behind the altar was a screen filled with images of the singer.

McCready committed suicide February 17 at her home in Arkansas. She was 37 - and her death came days after she left a court-ordered substance abuse treatment program. The mother of two died from a single gunshot to the head about a month after the death of her longtime boyfriend David Wilson. He died in the same place - and his death is also thought to be suicide.

Meanwhile, a separate funeral organized by her friends and fellow musicians is tentatively set for Monday in Nashville.
