Indiana State edges Iona 65-64

Dawon Cummings' layup with 4 seconds to play gave Indiana State a 65-64 nonconference victory over Iona on Saturday.
 
RJ Mahurin scored 16 points to lead the Sycamores (17-11), who snapped a three-game losing streak sustained in Missouri Valley Conference play. Cummings scored 13 points, Manny Arop had 10 points and 12 rebounds and Jake Odum contributed 10 points and seven assists.
 
Lamont Jones led the Gaels with 26 points. Taaj Ridley scored 16 and David Laury and Tre Bowman each had 11 rebounds for Iona.
 
The Gaels (15-13), of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, have lost three in a row. Iona has lost six of its last seven games by a total of 11 points, including a pair of double-overtime defeats.
 
It was the first meeting between the schools. The game was part of the BracketBusters series.
