An Indiana police chief is hanging up his badge to conduct pesticide and fertilizer investigations and inspections.
The Journal & Courier reports that Attica Chief Bob Brewer's last day on the job is March 5. He'll start his new job the next day, working with the state chemist's office based at Purdue University to help administer agricultural laws.
Brewer is a former Tippecanoe County sheriff sergeant and has worked in law enforcement for 25 years. He is credited with improving morale of the department in the community of about 3,200 residents.
Mayor Bob Shepherd says he expects to appoint Assistant Chief Gene Snoeberger as the interim chief.
