MUMBAI, India, February 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

By  Team VCC

The second edition of VCCircle Annual Awards was held at JW Marriott, Mumbai, and the companies were picked by an expert jury.

The annual VCCircle Awards is back with a bang, bringing together top-performing PE/VC-backed companies in India, as well as leading investors, lawyers and investment bankers. The 2nd edition of the gala ceremony was held in the evening of February 20 at JW Marriott, Mumbai, as we celebrated the impact of private equity and venture capital on Indian businesses. It was also the first evening of our ongoing Limited Partners Summit 2013, India's only LP-GP conclave, and the awards ceremony came as a fitting close to the super-active day.

The awards were bestowed to the most outstanding PE/VC-backed Indian companies that not only recorded tremendous growth in their respective industries, but also had a long-standing impact on the economy and the industry in general. And the best intermediaries - investment banks and the law firms - had been honoured too, as they facilitate such investments which are crucial for scripting those growth stories.

A four-member jury, comprising industry veterans, judged the winners and also decided to drop the award for the financial services category this year. Arun Duggal of Shriram Capital was the chairman of the jury and the other three members were Cyril Shroff (Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff), Deep Kalra (MakeMyTrip) and Vivek Pandit (McKinsey).
