Police: No prior runs to home of murder-suicide couple

INDIANAPOLIS -

Police have released the names of a couple who died in an apparent murder-suicide on the east side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metro Police were called to the 1800 block of Priscilla Avenue around 6:30 pm Wednesday.

Homicide detectives have identified the victim as 27-year-old Brandy L. Payne and the suspect has been identified as her husband, 31-year-old Cory Gaines.

According to officers, there had been no prior domestic police runs to the home. Their family told police the couple had been married for six years. There were no reports of domestic violence between them, nor is there any information available as to the motive.
