Indianapolis north side project moving forward

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Plans for a controversial mixed-use project at the southwest corner of Keystone and 86th Street are one step closer to final approval.

Wednesday afternoon, the Metropolitan Development Commissions approved zoning changes requested by the developer. Those changes are necessary for the project to move forward.

Plans include residential and retail components, but residents in nearby Nora are concerned about the increase in traffic and noise. The developer has agreed to scale back the original plans.

The zoning change now goes to the City-County Council for final approval. If the council signs off, the developer can break ground.
