Great White mark terrible anniversary

BOSTON -

Ten years after the fire that killed 100 people at a Great White concert, singer Jack Russell maintains he never meant to hurt anybody.

Russell tells The Boston Globe no matter what he says, it will not make anybody feel any better about what happened and it will probably make them feel worse. That's why he prefers not to talk about it.

The fire broke out during Great White's first song at their show in West Warwick, Rhode Island, exactly 10 years ago today. Pyrotechnics sparked soundproofing foam and fans rushed the exit. Great White guitarist Ty Longley was among those who died.

The charity set up to help victims and families, The Station Fire Memorial Foundation, has refused Russell's contributions.
