KOKOMO -

Students in Kokomo will soon be able to benefit from technology on their way to and from school.

The school board in Kokomo recently approved a project to install Wi-Fi connections on all of the district's buses. School district spokesman Dave Barnes says the cost of the project is approximately $125,000 to install the technology on 65 buses.

The system, which will include a GPS component, will cost around $5,000 a year to operate. The GPS system should be operational by spring break, with the full system up and running by the end of the school year.

Two companies are competing for the project, Barnes said.
