Police chief in Chris Brown case resigns

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND -

The police chief who oversaw Chris Brown's probation that has come under scrutiny has left the job.

Richmond, Virginia, Mayor Dwight Jones says he and Bryan Norwood mutually agreed that Norwood's time as police chief had ended. He did not say specifically it's because of Brown.

Last week, Los Angeles prosecutors accused the Richmond Police Department of sloppy record keeping and improper supervision as Brown served his community service there as part of his sentence for beating up Rihanna in 2009.
