Gotye has not been writing any new music because he's been on tour, but he has been collecting new instruments for when he's ready to write.
Gotye says he's been hitting up eBay and odd instrument shops and found some treasures. He bought a huge space-age organ that came out in 1970 and some music boxes. He also bought an electronic tabla drum machine from an Indian music shop.
Gotye says it would be foolish to try to repeat the success of "Somebody That I Used To Know," and he's more interested in making music that contrasts with that.
