LONDON -

Dave Clark Five bassist Rick Huxley has died.

The BBC reports Huxley passed away Monday at the age of 72.

Drummer Dave Clark says Huxley had been battling emphysema after years of heavy smoking but had recently been given a clean bill of health. Clark says Huxley was the funny one in the group and they still talked once a week.

The Dave Clark Five's hits include "Glad All Over," ''Bits and Pieces," ''Catch Us If You Can" and "I Like It Like That."
