There wasn't as much room at the inns in 2012, at least not in Marion County.

Visit Indy reports that demand, occupancy, revenue and the average daily room rate all rose in 2012, especially for downtown hotels.

Year-end reports show demand for downtown holes increased 5% over 2011, occupancy was up 4.3%, revenue jumped 13.6% and the average daily rate rose 7.9%

Visit Indy says while a lot of it had to do with Indianapolis hosting the 2012 Super Bowl, it wasn't everything.

They say hotel occupancy and revenue has continued to climb steadily since 2008, when it reached a low point in the midst of the recession.

They credit the uptick in the economy and number of large, conventions and trade shows.
