CASTLETON -
A head-on crash on E. 82nd Street near the entrance to Castleton Mall claimed one man's life and sent three others to area hospitals early Saturday morning.
Witnesses told first responders that a westbound black Chevy Tahoe was traveling at high speed and crossed the center line, striking a silver Chevy pickup around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Fire crews needed 15 minutes to free the two people in the Tahoe, a female driver and her male passenger. The man was in critical condition when taken by ambulance to the hospital, and later died, according to an IMPD dispatcher.
The couple in the pickup, a man and woman, and the driver of the Tahoe were all in stable condition when they left in ambulances.
No names were released, pending notification of relatives.
Metro Police are investigating and have not determined whether either driver was impaired at the time of the accident.
